Allegre's second thoughts on Global Warming

I sometimes wonder where all of this is going. If global warming turns out NOT to be man-made, what will happen? Will it just disappear from public view? Will we learn anything?

Allegre's second thoughts

Unfortunately "negatives" cannot be proven, so both sides will claim to be correct. Things will get warmer and some bad things (somewhere) will happen and people will say "see we were right". If we have not changed our habits, they will say humans caused it and that we should have listened to them, if we have changed our habits, even a little, they will say "it would have been worse, see how much we helped - now do this or that". Even if the bad things that happen are only a fraction of what was predicted, they will just say "we were off a little" and never admit they were just wrong. And never offer any proof that it is man-made.
