Limbaugh is McCain’s most valuable asset?

This is hilarious.. I've been wondering how the conservative talk radio hosts (Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter) were going to spin their insanely harsh opposition to McCain after he becomes the nominee. Disagreeing with him is one thing, they did it with a viciousness typically reserved for anyone named "Clinton" that it made me sick.

Here's Rush's spin, I wonder if the others will follow suit. Or actually campaign against McCain like Coulter said she would do.

Huckabee runs out of gas!

Literally, a van carrying reporters to the Airport for Huckabee's flight to Little Rock actually RAN OUT OF GAS..

I wonder if this has any metaphorical implications for his campaign.

And if anyone is wondering, I'm GLAD Huckabee is staying in the Race. It keeps the Republican's and McCain in the news, and he is building his name recognition for 2012 or maybe a position in a McCain administration. I have to admit I had NEVER heard of him before the first of the year, and then I was unfortunately tainted by the media's habit of calling him "Huckabee-the-former-baptist-minister". I think he will be in a good position in 2012 (McCain might not seek a 2nd term, and we'll all be sick of Clinton or Obama...) [This Post Continues after the jump...]

Well, the 2nd place person is quiting, but the 3rd place person isn't? That's odd.

There is a lot of animosity between Romney and Huckabee, so I wonder what Romney will try and do with his delegates. They will more naturally support Huckabee, but Romney might not be willing to officially give him support. But if he officially supports McCain, the delegates might not follow his lead.

John McCain is Letting me Down

John's McCain continued assertion that Mitt Romney once said he support secret "time tables" for withdrawal of troops from Iraq is making me sick. He's better than this and he needs to find a way out of it.

He's also not answering questions about the Economy.

He's losing it.. "Romey ran business and Sometimes people loose their Jobs" (paraphrased)

If Huckabee was electable, I might actually support him! He just mentioned the 10th Amendment and I bet people don't even know what that is.

CNN is doing a horrible job. Several of their questions were purposely set up to make the candidates defend or tear down Bush or Reagan, but never Clinton or Carter. When you ask a question like that, all you're going to get is a sound and dance. It's not good debate moderating.

This was posted in the comments, but I thought it was good enough to bring up here. The Problem with McCain. Tai-Pan does a lot better job of going into details.

McCain also has not address why he Voted against the Bush Tax Cuts but want to make them permanent. Talk about a flip-flop. He apparently said they "helped the rich" too much then, but now that's either a good thing, or it was never true.

Despite all this, I still can't bring myself to support Romney. I think we need someone like John McCain if we are going to win the election and get anything done afterwards. [This Post Continues after the jump...]

McCain Wins South Carolina

Wow, I actually liked McCain back when the press declared him dead.. I even sent him money, something I've hardly ever done before and never done this early in a campaign. I've given to the Republicans in general for use in the election, but I've never really paid much attention to the primaries. Maybe because Florida always seemed to have no say in who would win.

But this year, I've supported McCain from the start, and he's doing Great. Still a long way to go, but there is hope.

21 Questions Answered About Mormon Faith

This is not very deep, but interesting and informative none the less...

As I understand it from reading on "BeliefNet" Mormons accept the entire new testament and add their "book of Mormon". The two taken together lead to a slightly (but significant) different understanding of God and Jesus and salvation. They pretty much reject any Catholic and Protestants teaching and interpretation of the New Testament, but not the New Testament itself (at least not the Gospels)

This is understandable. The Bible gives us a set of "dots" and we connect them to form a understanding of God and everything. The Book of Mormon adds more "dots" so it is understandable that the Mormons connected them differently and get a different overall "picture".

I don't know anything about the Book of Mormon so I can't say if their "dots" are right or wrong or agree with or even contradict the "dots" given in the Bible. I think Mormons accept ALL the Bible, but maybe they don't accept certain books or use different translations, but they at least see no contradiction between the two. Which says something.

Now this IS interesting.... I wonder how a McCain/Liberman ticket would go over....

I think it would be great, assuming the two of them get along and have enough in common to be a team. But talk about an administration that could unite the country...

I don't see how the Democrats could field anything that would compete with this. Of course Liberman would have to "sell his soul" to run on a Republican ticket and I'm not sure anyone would be willing to do that.

But what if McCain does well in the primaries, but doesn't win. Depending on who wins on both the Republicans and Democrat sides, an independent McCain/Lieberman ticket (or even Lieberman/McCain) would be possible.

Talk about shaking things up!!

Of course, I'm probably interested just because it would shake things up... Like Perot, there was no way I really wanted him to win or even come close, but it was great to see the shake up.... but this is different, this is possible.

Democrat party officials are avoiding any and all criticism of Republican presidential contender Mike Huckabee, insiders reveal.

The Democratic National Committee has told staffers to hold all fire, until he secures the party's nomination.

The directive has come down from the highest levels within the party, according to a top source.

Within the DNC, Huckabee is known as the "glass jaw -- and they're just waiting to break it."

In the last three weeks since Huckabee's surge kicked in, the DNC hasn't released a single press release criticizing his rising candidacy.

The last DNC press release critical of Huckabee appeared back on March 2nd.

The discipline the Democrats have shown in not engaging Huckabee has earned the praise of one former Republican Party official:

"The Democrats are doing a much better job restraining themselves than the GOP did in 2003 when Howard Dean looked like he was on the brink of winning the nomination."

A close friend to Huckabee explains: "Look, Mike is Hillary Clinton's worst nightmare. They should be squirming."

It's 3am and I'm trying to stay awake... reading this probably wasn't my best idea of the night.

If I'm understanding this right, it says that McCain takes "National Duty" over "personal freedoms" and that we should be afraid of this. I think there needs to be a balance between the two and McCain errors on the side of Duty over Freedom, but that's no worse than erroring on the side of Freedom, and few if any of us get it perfectly balanced all the time.
