Jury Finds Man Guilty of Murder in Kansas Abortion Provider's Death

The only thing I have to say about this is this one paragraph.

Roeder's attorneys were hoping to get a lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter for Roeder, a defense that would have required them to show that Roeder had an unreasonable but honest belief that deadly force was justified.
I don't see why this was rejected, it's clear he honestly believes deadly force was justified. This sounds like grounds for an appeal since the Jury didn't decide this, the Judge did.

Scott Roeder
Dr. George Tiller

Not Above My Pay Grade - Are the Dems Dodging Abortion?

Opinion: Are the Democrats Dodging Abortion? | Newsweek Religion | Newsweek.com: "'Human development begins at fertilization when a male gamete or sperm (spermatazoon) unites with a female gamete or oocyte (ovum) to produce a single cell—a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marked the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.' That is the science. It's quite specific, and understanding the science here is surely not above the 'pay grade' of a president who will be making public-policy decisions based on that science." Obama’s Fatal Flaw

well said...

But Obama’s willingness to use abortion as an example of how people of faith must learn to communicate their universal values more reasonably, then fighting for the exact opposite, is insulting, and frightening.

Senator Obama’s fatal flaw is his unwillingness or inability to be consistent in word and deed on some very basic issues, of which, abortion is only one. His excellent speech on the urgency of ridding our country of racism, coupled with his simultaneous and strange embrace of pastors spewing reverse racism, was another.

Clinton Rally at Catholic University - Opps!

Clinton Rally at Catholic University Sparks Controversy
I guess Hillary forgot her strong support for abortion is just a little at odd's with the Catholic Church's

Our Catholic institutions must promote the clear understanding of our deep moral convictions on an issue like abortion, an act that the Church calls 'an unspeakable crime' and a non negotiable issue.

Pope to Excommunicate Abortion Advocates

FOXNews.com - Pope Heads to Latin America Bearing Tough Messages - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News

This is great. I see no reason to have an authority structure in a Church unless you are going to enforce doctrine. There should be serious consequences for advocating something a serious as abortion.

I don't know if this will change anything in Mexico, or lower the influence of the Church, but some things are worth fighting for, even if it means going down swinging. [This Post Continues after the jump...]

Giuliani on public funding of abortion (1989)

Not looking good for Giuliani.
I could never support someone who not only believes abortion is OK, but thinks the public should pay for them. Yes, this is old news, but I don't think you can make that big of a change (from public funding to outlawing it)

Fetus or Baby?

This is incredible. After seeing this, I don't see how anyone can support allowing abortion after 21 weeks (unless the mother's life is actually endangered). It's just unconscionable. Yet the democrats still support abortions up until birth. Why?
