The linked article claims that teachers would be protected from disciplinary action should they present material that is "critical" to the theory of evolution, however I am aware of no criticism of the theory of evolution that has passed scientific muster.

Dimensio,

So you are saying that a high school biology text book that is considered by current scientific thought to be 100% correct will still be 100% correct in 10-20 years? I doubt it.

The idea of "evolution" assumes life somehow evolved from lower forms to higher forms over millions of years. Whenever one mechanism for evolution is proven wrong, another one takes it's place. I guarantee you that the current mechanism will be shown to have flaws and out right errors. But only if we train people to be critical of it.

If you are unwilling to challenge and think critically about the mechanisms of evolution, you are not following the scientific process.

If you are unwilling to challenge the concept of evolution, then you are treating it with a dogma that is usually reserved for religious beliefs. Which is what evolution has become. It is untestable, unobservable, unchallengeable "Belief" and has no more reason to be called a "scientific theory" than a belief in the "easter bunny" does.
