Supreme Court Backs Oregon Assisted-Suicide Law

This is great news.
However, the troubling part is who voted to block the Oregon law. The "conservative" justices are supposed to be "pro state rights" but I guess that only applies when they agree with what the state is trying to do.

If Alito is that same, then maybe the conservative take over of the court is not such a good thing.

I'm interesed in opinions on how this plays into "State Rights" vs "Federal law". Particularly from Dave (who I think is strong "State Rights") or anyone how is strongly for State Rights.

Even if you disagree with Assisted Suicide, shouldn't it be left up to the States to regulate?

I just realized how inconsistent this ruling is.

Didn't they rule that Federal law trumps state law for "medical" marijuana?

But now Federal law doesn't trump state law when they want to kill someone. At least medical marijuana supposedly helps the person.
