On Fox last night, I saw a story about some city trying to kick a WWII veteran out of his house so they can turn the land over to a contractor to build condos. The guy is terminal with cancer and has about two years to live.

While what the city is doing is perfectly legal (thanks to the wisdom of the Supreme Court) it is completely immoral. It also indicates the wide spread impacts that this Supreme Court ruling is having. Cities now see $$$ in taking peoples land. An easy fix to tight municipal budgets. Under the current law this man really has no rights to his land. The only barganing chip he has is his status and the really bad publicity the city is going to get. Hopefully this case will serve to bring the impacts of this stupidity to the publics attention. Hopefully the SC will be able to revisit this ruling with Alito & Roberts on the bench.
