Supreme Court turns down Florida voting case

Supreme Court turns down Florida voting case - OrlandoSentinel.com: State News

This is interesting. I don't think this is racial at all, so the Voting Rights Act of 1965 shouldn't apply. But I do think that if someone is released and has served their time, they should be able to vote again.

Any comments?

I'm not overly upset about this, but I do think that if you have done your time, including any probation or parole time, then you should be able to vote again, automatically.

I also think that if you are in jail awaiting trail (which I think is a part of this) then you should also be able to vote.

HOwever, any voting related crime or fraud should carry a lifetime ban on voting in addtion to any jail term or fine.
